Intel and Kenyan Ministry of Education Partnership for Better Elearning Development Tools and Solutions

Nairobi, Kenya (June 23, 2010) – Kenyan elearning will benefit from Intel Corporation’s endeavors to cut down the expenses of education delivery by teaming up with the country’s ministry of Education. The partnership will ease in the incorporation of elearning development tools and solutions into the standard curriculum. The effort aims to improve learning delivery experiences across the nation.

Elearning is taking the world by storm with its offering of convenience, cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Various educational institutions from all over the world have already established the use of elearning in their own processes, and Kenya is beginning to join the bandwagon. The design of such an innovation involves the appropriate use of various authoring and elearning development tools for the creation of high quality electronic learning courses and programs.

The program from the joint efforts of Intel Corporation and the Kenyan Ministry of Education will reduce the expenses of education by including the increasingly popular innovation into the nation’s learning curriculum. It will provide a more beneficial ratio of a 1 is to 1 relationship. However, this will not be a standard relationship limited between the student and a teacher, but the student with the community of learners and the various resources made available by electronic learning. According to Suraj Shah, Corporate Communications Manager for Intel Corporation, “We have a number of school representatives that have already been taken through this solution and some are ready to have this rolling out.”

The program will focus on the needs of the students with their unique needs. It will allow them to interact with a community of online learners. They will be able to create new projects, learn and practice new set of skills and share new knowledge and information with a variety of people from across the nation. A more important effect will be the increase in independent learning as students are encouraged to take initiative in their learning. The emphasis on self-direction will allow them to explore more and acquire more relevant knowledge and skills.

Through the proper use of ICT initiatives and elearning development tools, students will enjoy increased benefits from improved engagement, an active set of courses, and less limitation traditionally imposed by mere books and classroom discussions. It will provide learners with the necessary knowledge and skills and result in more meaningful learning experiences. This will contribute to a more successful education for them, allowing them to compete in a global setting. The deputy director of Kenya Institute of Education John Kimotho explained, “We view this technology as a tool for building these skills and advancing individual and national competitiveness.”

Wanted: Partner

I have to honest; we are in some deep financial trouble right now. And regardless how our company got here – if it was because we were losing clients or maybe just some huge strike or bad luck – the fact is we have to do something drastic, and fast. This is just the second year of our bank, so it’s relatively still new plus we didn’t have that much awareness when it came down to our bank’s existence.

So I suggested to one of my bosses that we ally our bank with one of those big banks in the city. It was gamble, he told me. Although, I have to admit I was also unsure of this move since I understand that it might have a toll on our company later, I also understand that the dilemma we face can only be solved quickly without much delay if and only if we were going to have a big partner. We needed names. We needed it now. For a company whose sole investors and clients were country folks and senior citizens, we were doing well. But for a bank that needed money just to survive this year, we were pretty much, as they say, on the brink of destruction.

partner profiles

At first, I thought using partner portals with other businesses would do well in this situation since it would allow our company to analyze which specific target market we were going to reel in if we made a big bait, like say help them with their home loan modifications.

Boy was I wrong. It seems that partner portals only works well if one of the parties involve was a big name, big enough for people to recognize and known enough for people to give it their direct trust. Apparently, small businesses and banks don’t have much to trade information with especially that both of their flow of business are running slow.

With that said, it was as clear as day that we needed some big business or bank that would call upon the mighty strike of good luck. We also had the option of relocating to the city but then any banker who would see our left budget for that case would end up in tears. Until we find someone good enough to salvage us from this circumstance, I can only pray, wait and hope that our “downtime” would come to an end.

Importance of Lead Management Modules in Partner Portal

Lead management semi automation is one effective feature of partner portals that channel mangers and partners love. Opportunities are better handled with a system integrated to the sales process. We had a problem before of leads getting wasted because of poor documentation and recording. Because our firm decided to enroll in one of our vendor’s portal, we’ve seen remarkable improvements in our sales activity.

In the lead registration, conflicts are avoided because leads are not duplicated. It’s harder to steal leads with the channel manager monitoring and authorizing each lead that comes in.

We can finally concentrate on what we do best and that is selling. Tedious tasks previously needed to be done manually are now automated so we are freer to focus on the main prize.

Lead management modules can facilitate distribution of leads to different partners as long as they are registered and active in updating their accounts. Real time processing eliminates waiting time so resellers can act quickly to close deals.

The automated system tracks where leads originated, when it was submitted and the action by the sales representatives. It even computes the commissions, and profits expected by both the reseller and the vendor. It can’t get more automated than that!

Report generation is another feature in partner portals that makes the investment worth it especially in the long run. We’ve had some issues in the past where figures were mistyped or miscalculated. With the automated feature, these kinds of errors are eliminated.

The partner portal is also another venue where we can communicate with the vendor. By checking our reports, sales statistics, the channel manager can immediately point to the weak areas or strong areas of our sales activity. The portal’s graphs function reflects the progress we’ve been having. And it can also show where we can improve.

How to Write an SEO Article

Companies that are working or dependent on website promotion have to be greatly concerned with Search Engine Optimization or SEO Philippines. This strategy is considered to be an incredibly important tool in successful internet marketing. One of the most affordable and relatively successful tools to execute a good SEO strategy is through article writing especially because it brings substantial volumes of traffic to a website. When it comes to writing articles for an internet marketing campaign, it is critically important to take note of keyword choice and utilization. Here’s a basic description of how to write an SEO Article:

http://www.commpartnersconnect.com/images/call_center.jpg
Philippine call center

Choose Relevant Keywords
This is the very step, even before choosing the title or description of what’s to be written. Accomplishing this is not a difficult feat. All that must be done is to go to one of the keyword tools that are available, such as Yahoo’s Overture, iceboat and Google Ads. These services offer free basic searches for the cost-cutting individuals, but they also offer better and more advanced versions of these services for a certain price. The latter is considered to be a good investment since it provides a lot of important information to the marketers.

This task is actually an “art”. Choosing keywords for the best possible search engine optimization is a vital part of the entire process. There are several methods that can be utilized to accomplish it. A good example would be to choose long tail keywords. For those who are merely starting out in this industry, it is enough to decide on about ten relevant keywords that will be strategically inserted through the article for SEO Philippines.

Writing the Article
Writing the body of the literature is the next step and should ideally be done first before coming up with the title. The opening and closing paragraphs should be “rich” in the use of the gathered and chosen keywords, since they are the ones that search engine spiders will most likely concentrate on searching. It is ideal to build the work by using two keywords per paragraph.

Video Games are the Future of Elearning Online

I think that majority of parents and teachers underestimate the value of video games. Usually, these games are viewed as distractions and disruptors of effective, traditional classroom learning because they divert students from the tasks of memorizing, reading and basically absorbing mounds of information all at once. However, what these people don’t realize is that video games have become so interactive, impeccably designed and truly educational that it has the possibility of becoming the future of elearning online itself.

Admittedly, video games are not solutions to educational problems. What I’m trying to point out is that it would not hurt to look to these life simulations as a possible means of delivering quality educational content to modern learners through elearning online, which is currently a rising trend in society. Designers and developers can use video games as patterns from which new era courses can be based on.

elearning online

These are virtual worlds that are powerful contexts for learning experiences. Unlike in traditional forms of learning where words must first be memorized or understood in order to make meaningful associations with symbols and actions, video games turn the process around on its head and allow gamers to learn in reverse. People who enjoy video games have the benefit of gaining virtual experience of concrete realities that lessons try to describe and explain. They can enjoy the advantage of situated understanding by experiencing situations beforehand, and then being supplied with the information they need along the way.

One of the best things about video games that educators must consider is how willing people are to exert the necessary effort to analyze and triumph over the challenges presented in the simulations. Imagine how effective learning can be if elearning courses can be designed to be like video games that it garners the same kind of attention and passion from students.

I truly believe that video games can become the future of elearning online because of all these things. It’s all about utilizing the influence of these virtual worlds for education’s advantage instead of antagonizing its dominance in society.

Increase Online Participation in Elearning

It’s a given that elearning is increasingly becoming a standard when it comes to learning, especially for the informal sort. Instructors like me are using social networking tools like Twitter and Facebook as elearning tools to attract the student generation of today. You and I both know that social media is popular, but this does not necessarily mean that students participate in learning experiences through them. How can instructors therefore increase the genuine participation online?

It seems that traditional classroom teaching methods are effective even for the hi-tech classes of today. Here are some examples of ways by which you can increase the participation of students online.

1. Lure them. You can reel in students to join in the discussion by asking them by asking for their opinion. Ask them whether or not they agree with what has been said. You can ask them to provide examples that support their stand or contradict the point of the discussion. Moving away from them instead of towards them will force them to speak up which catches the attention of others and encourages them to participate in the discourse.

2. Encourage the ‘quiet’ or nonparticipating learners. Those who appear to be quiet are not necessarily uninvolved in what’s happening. It’s best to avoid exerting too much effort to elicit a form of ‘participation’ from them. Usually, these kinds of learners are waiting for a non-threatening opportunity to voice out their opinion.

3. Facilitate actively. Providing active facilitation is not too difficult. You can challenge the learners to give deeper answers, or prevent over-exertive students from dominating debates or discussions. Another example is to firmly reprimand those who participate just for the sake of doing it.

4. Ask useful queries. If you ask a stupid question, you’re sure to get a stupid answer. It is therefore important to make sure that you’re asking effective and useful questions. Avoid asking too objectively as this only encourages the recollection of concepts.

Apartment Hotel in Question—Rostrevor: A Review for Mister Darcy

This review is for the benefit of my friend, whom I shall call “Mister Darcy” for anonymity’s sake. I’ve been planning to go to and stay in a hotel in Barbados for the longest time, but when I told my good friend Mister Darcy about my plans, he immediately reminded me of my current financial state. Although I could very well afford a few nights’ stay there, I’d regret it afterwards.

He therefore advised me to stay in this apartment hotel in Barbados called Rostrevor. He stayed there before and had the most wonderful time because it was a hell of a lot cheaper than any travel hotel there. I was skeptical, of course, but he was one of my best friends, so I took his word for it. But I warned him that if he over exaggerated his claims, then I shall plummet his ass into a garbage bin for ruining my Caribbean vacation.

Rostrevor is pretty, actually. I arrived there at dusk, and my first impression was that it had that quaint, homey charm that most hotels lack. It is located at St. Lawrence Gap and divided into three sections. The interior was true to the Bajan culture and impressively avoided being tacky. There are 28 studios in all, and each one is clean and well-equipped for comfort. There’s adequate air conditioning, cable TV, Wi-Fi and other services. I was rather pleased about this. But I think what really made me enjoy my stay was the fact that it didn’t hurt my bank account.
There’s a small beach in front of the apartment hotel, and it’s admittedly scenic. During the day, I noticed that there are a lot of people who enjoy playing water sports there, as well as beach volleyball.

All in all, I give it a solid 3.5/5. I am pleased to announce that my good friend Mister Darcy did not end up in the garbage bin, and is pretty much physically intact.
